Green Bay, Wis.(WFRV) -- The Green Bay City Council has voted 9-3 to give interim police chief Tom Molitor an exemption that would allow him to live outside of the city.

It took about two hours of debate before Tom Molitor was allowed to remove the interim from his title.

The vote comes after a public argument over whether the chief should be allowed to live outside city limits.Current rules indicate that all City department heads must live in the city, but Tuesday, Molitor was granted the exemption.
