De Pere, Wis.(WFRV)--Governor Scott Walker is investing more money into helping the state's workforce.
Today at St. Norbert College, Governor Walker said grant money will help train workers for high-demand professions.
Funds will also expand a medical college in Green Bay, and help people on food stamps enroll in job-training programs.
Says Governor Walker, "My belief is that if you're receiving food stamps, we should be giving you the skills you need to not be permanently dependent on the government, and for us not to just tell you to get out and find a job, but to give you the skills needed to find a job."
These proposals are part of the Republican's 2013 - 2015 budget.
