GREEN BAY, Wis (WFRV) A national crime show digs into one of Green Bay's most notorious murder cases.

John Maloney was convicted of strangling his wife then setting her body on fire. He was an arson investigator for the Green Bay Police Department at the time.

Maloney was sentenced to life in prison in 1999, but his family maintains he was innocent.

The story, "Burning Passions," aired on the Investigation Discovery Channel Monday night.

All three of Maloney's sons were interviewed for the story, and many of the scenes were filmed in Green Bay.

Maloney's sister says, her family is still struggling with the outcome of the case.

"This is an hourly battle for us and our family. There isn't a minute that goes by in the day that we aren't thinking about it, talking about it, looking through the paper about it," says Gin Maloney.

WFRV reached out to the family of the victim, Sandra Maloney, for reation to the show, but phone calls were not returned.
