SHAWANO COUNTY (WFRV) Lisa Taylor and her brother Chris Young paused to remember their mother, Barbara Gollnow, their stepfather James Gollnow and step-sister Sareena Gollnow.

"They were just special people. Kind. Loving," Taylor recalled.

They shared their recollections one day before a memorial service for the three. They were killed along with a family friend and two foster children in a two vehicle crash in Kentucky while heading home to Wisconsin. They stopped at Lisa's home in Tennessee on the way down to Florida.

"They were there with all the foster kids. My mom and dad were so big into foster kids. It's just...it was just chaos. It was total chaos. But it was good chaos," Taylor said.

Chris Young remembered his step-father for a shared aptitude for mechanics and his knack for trickery.

"He'd sit there and he'd have something hidden in the wood pile. You go to burn it up and it would explode. But he was with the fire department. So he knew what he was doing. You know the guy he was a practical jokers," Young said.

Young and Taylor are grateful for the condolences and prayers from the community since the tragedy occurred. But even at Saturday's memorial, set for 3:00 P.M. at the Marion Elementary School gymnasium, they'll focus on the positive.

"We're going to cry! And we're going to cry a lot. But we're going to celebrate their lives. Because that's what they would want," Taylor said.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the Fox Cities Community Credit Union in Clintonville.

Local 5's Terry Kovarik has the story.
