Shawano County (WFRV) - We have continuing coverage of a fatal accident in Kentucky that took the lives of six people from Shawano County.

Family and friends said their last goodbyes Saturday to James, Barbara and Sareena Gollnow.

Two of their foster children and a family friend also died.  Two other foster kids survived the crash which remains under investigation.

The accident happened in Kentucky one week ago as the family was returning from a vacation in Florida.

The memorial service for the Gollnows was held Saturday in the Marion Elementary School gym in Marion.

Hundreds of people stopped by the memorial to pay their respects.

Some people we spoke with tell Local 5 those attending found prayer and comfort as scriptures were read and songs were sung.

The family's pastor says James and Barbara had very strong faith and that's something other family members can hold on to.

"That's a comfort in these time.  It's a comfort to them to know they believe they will see their relatives again.  And I do to."  Said Father Paul Feider/St. John's Episcopal Church.

Some church members remember the good times they had with the family.

"We sang happy birthday to their children.  We prayed with them.  We did a lot of things together.  They were just good people."  Said Arnie Gibson.
