APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) -A hospital in the Fox Valley is making life easier for owners of electric and hybrid cars.

St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton has recently installed a  electric vehicle charging station.

Hospital officials say it's the first of its kind in the Fox Valley.

Patients, staff, and visitors will be able to use the station free of charge.

Hospital officials say they're happy to do their part to help maintain the health of the environment.

"If you look at Wisconsin" Sustainability Team Leader Iqbal Mian says, "there aren't that many EV stations, and one of the things we'd like to do is encourage people to reduce their carbon footprint of their vehicle to work, and that's one reason why we've provided this EV station."

The charging station is located on the first floor east entrance of the parking garage.
