Gamblers Beat Youngstown, advance to Conference Finals

YOUNGSTOWN (WFRV) - The Green Bay Gamblers defeated the Youngstown Phantoms 4-1 Wednesday night at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio.  The Gamblers win the second round series 3-1 and will move on to take on the Indiana Ice in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Mike Ambrosia scored for the Youngstown Phantoms early in the first period to give his team the lead at the 1:35 mark.  The Phantoms would hold the lead up until midway thru the third period.

After a scoreless second period, leading goal scorer for the Gamblers Nolan LaPorte found the back of the net at the 8:34 mark in the third period unassisted. Sam Herr scored the game winning goal less than 3 minutes later. Herr along with captain Grant Arnold would also add an empty net goal  a piece at the end of the contest to give the Gamblers the 4-1 victory.

Ryan McKay recorded the victory between the pipes for the Gamblers turning away 19 of 20 shots on goal.
