Lucroy's career day powers Brewers over Twins, 16-4

Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy has been red hot this season, but he's had no day better than Sunday.

Lucroy hit a pair of homers and drove in a franchise record-tying 7 runs as the Brewers avoided a sweep with a 16-4 rout of the Minnesota Twins on Sunday afternoon at Miller Park in Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee catcher, now hitting .342 this season, hit a solo homer in the 1st inning, then a grand slam in the 7th, which gave the Brewers (17-24) a commanding 16-1 lead.

Ryan Braun added 4 RBI for Milwaukee, while Zack Greinke (5-1) not only was the winning pitcher, he also had a pair of hits at the plate.

The Brewers host the San Francisco Giants in the opener of a three-game series on Monday night at 7:10 at Miller Park.
