Rodgers Takes First Loss As Cards Beat Brewers 6-1

By: Ryan Rodig
Updated: August 4, 2012

Adam Wainwright held the Brewers (48-58) in check Saturday, tossing his second complete game of the season and the 10th of his career while limiting Milwaukee to only five hits.

Former first round pick Mark Rodgers took his first MLB loss, allowing four runs in the 3rd inning and five earned runs overall in five innings.

Rodgers struck out five, and retired the final six batters he faced after getting roughed up early on.

Ryan Braun drove in the Brewers' lone run with a first-inning sacrifice fly.

Marco Estrada will face the Cardinals' Kyle Lohse in the series finale Sunday.
