Brewers Keep Winning at Miller Park, Beating Phils 6-2

No team in Major League Baseball has a better winning percentage in its home ballpark over the last two months than the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Brewers (54-64) won for the 8th straight time at Miller park Friday, beating Philadelphia 6-2.

Milwaukee was held in check by Phillies starter Vance Worley until the 4th inning.  The Brewers brought eight batters to the plate with two out in the inning which ended with the Brew Crew going ahead 4-1.

Nyjer Morgan tripled to right center on a ball that went off the glove of right fielder Dominic Brown before he crashed into the wall.  That allowed Martin Maldonado and Corey Hart to score.  Milwaukee starter Yovanni Gallardo helped his own cause with a two-out two run single scoring Morgan and Jean Segura.  Segura reached on an intentional walk, and stole his first MLB base shortly after.

Ryan Braun homered for the third time in the last two games.  With two-out and Norichika Aoki on first in the bottom of the 6th, Braun blasted a line drive that barely got high enough to clear the center field fence.

Gallardo (12-8) pitched seven strong innings striking out nine and only allowing four hits to earn the win.

Mike Fiers matches up with Cole Hamels in game three of the series Saturday.
