Updated: July 17, 2012

Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy, who's been out since Memorial Day weekend with a broken hand, will join the Timber Rattlers this weekend for a rehab assignment.

The Rattlers announced Tuesday that Lucroy was tentatively scheduled to play in Appleton from Thursday through Sunday.  Lucroy tweeted later in the day that he would be reporting to the Rattlers on Thursday.

Lucroy was one of the best hitters in the National League prior to his injury.  He posted a .345 average with 5 homers and 30 RBI in 43 games.

The Rattlers play at Fox Cities Stadium Thursday and Friday nights at 7:05 p.m., Saturday at 6:35 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 1:05.
