Brewers' Hart delaying knee surgery, seeking second opinion on knee

By: Nick Goddard
Updated: January 22, 2013
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Corey Hart will not have arthroscopic knee surgery as scheduled Tuesday, the team announced.

Hart is seeking a second opinion on his injured right knee from a specialist in Colorado.  Brewers assistant general manager Gord Ash told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that Hart's agent requested the second opinion, as is his right under the current collective bargaining agreement.

An MRI conducted by the Brewers' team physician last week revealed a slight meniscus tear in the knee, and surgery was scheduled.  Hart was expected to be our of action for four months, including the first 4-6 weeks of the regular season
