Brewers' Hart undergoes knee surgery, expected to miss first 2 months of season

Updated: January 25, 2013
Brewers first baseman Corey Hart underwent surgery on his injured right knee on Friday, the team announced.

Hart's surgery was originially scheduled for Tuesday, but he sought a second opinion from a specialist in Colorado, who confirmed the Brewers' team doctor's diagnosis.

Hart's recovery time is expected to be around four months, which would mean he would miss the first 2 months of the regular season.

Mat Gamel is expected to start at first base in Hart's place.
