Packers receive compensatory 5th round draft choice

By: Nick Goddard
Updated: March 20, 2013
The NFL awarded 32 compensatory draft choices to 16 teams on Monday, and the Green Bay Packers have received a 5th round choice in April's draft as compensation for free agents lost last year.

Last off-season, the Packers lost quarterback Matt Flynn (Seattle) and center Scott Wells (St. Louis) to unrestricted free agency.  Green Bay signed center Jeff Saturday.

The extra draft choice gives the Packers 8 picks in next month's draft, which takes place from April 25-27 in New York City.
