Travis Ishikawa, Corey Hart, Rickie Weeks, and Carlos Gomez all homered for Milwaukee (9-9). Wolf pitched six innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits. After he left the game, the Brewers put five runs on the board in the bottom half of the sixth to take an 7-2 advantage.
However, like on Monday night, the Brewers' bullpen let Houston back into the game, and by the 8th the Milwaukee lead was down to two at 8-6 and the tying run was at the plate. Francisco Rodriguez entered and got the final out in the 8th, ending the threat.
Then, after Gomez hit his solo homer in the bottom of the 8th, John Axford worked a scoreless ninth to pick up his 47th consecutive regular season save, which ties him with Brad Lidge for the 4th longest streak in MLB history.
The Brewers and Astros wrap up their series Wednesday afternoon at 12:10 at Miller Park.
