De Pere Girl's top Bay Port for Sole Possession of 1st in FRCC

The De Pere girl's basketball team claimed sole possession of first place in the Fox River Classic Conference Thursday night defeating Bay Port 57-38 on their home floor.

The Red Bird have now won 34 straight games.

Both teams entered the game with perfect conference records.  De Pere took control of the game early leading by as much as 10 points in the first quarter.  Bay Port went on a run in the second quarter to cut the deficit to just two at halftime, but the the defending Division 1 State Champion Red Birds started the second half as strong as the first and built a 12 point lead and taking control of the game from there.

Top-ranked De Pere improves to 9-0 in the FRCC and 14-0 overall.
