Kentucky Defeats Kansas, wins National Championship

The #1 ranked team for most of the 2011-2012 season, the Kentucky Wildcats defeated Kansas Monday night in New Orleans to capture their first National Championship in 14 years.

Doron Lamb scored 22 points to lead the Wildcats (38-2) while National Player of the Year Anthony Davis had 6 points, 16 rebounds, and 6 blocked shots.

The win marks the first national title for Kentucky coach John Calipari, who had led 2 previous programs to the Final Four.
