Brown County (WFRV) Some local residents got a good deal on a new bike and more.

The Green Bay Police Department held its annual Police Bike Auction at the Brown County Fairgrounds Saturday.

There were about 300 bikes up for auction.  Most of the bikes were found and turned over to police.  Their owners couldn't be located.

There was also city surplus items and  confiscated items including car stereos, tools and more.

"We do have some surplus city items.  We have some spotlights, old sirens from squad cars things like that.  We don't want to throw it away.  Get a few bucks for it.  It goes back into the city coffers."  Said Green Bay Police Assistant Chief Lisa Sterr.

Asst. Chief Sterr says the bike's sell anywhere from one dollar to a few hundred bucks.  The average is between 50 and 100 dollars.
