Girls State Basketball: Kewaunee Storms to First Championship

MADISON (WFRV) - The Kewaunee Storm defeated Oostburg Saturday afternoon, 50-41, to win the WIAA girls division 3 state basketball championship.
The win gives Kewaunee its first ever state title in a girls team sport.Jill Kleiman led Kewaunee with 14 points, while Nicole Geier added 12. The Storm (24-4) tied a D-3 title game record with 8 three-pointers made in the contest. Kelsey Stangel had 4 points and 14 rebounds for the Storm.
Lexie Greenheck led Oostburg (23-5) with 13 points. The Flying Dutchmen were making their 6th straight appearance at the state tournament.
