Ashwaubenon, (WFRV) Some good news for some of those who sacrificed so much for our country and their families.

Local Five has learned that some of the soldiers from the Ashwaubenon based 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion  will be arriving home Monday.

100 members of the Battalion left last  march for training in Indiana and then onto a tour in Afghanistan.

60 of those soldiers arrived back in Indiana this past week.

It has been a long journey home. Sandstorms and transportation issues have slowed the soldiers return.

Lt. Colonel Joel Smith emailed Local Five to tell us the first bus of returning soldiers will arrive at the Reserve Center on Holmgren way in Ashwaubenon between 8 am and 10 am Monday morning.

One soldier from this unit was injured while serving in Afghanistan.

You'll recall local five made the trip to Minneapolis where sergeant Adam Alexander is recovering.

He was shot by insurgents and sustained a major brain injury.

Adam is doing remarkably well and plans to get married this fall.

A homecoming celebration won't take place until June or when all soldiers are back home.
