For the third straight season, Yovani Gallardo will be the Milwaukee Brewers' opening day starting pitcher.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke made the announcement on Wednesday.

Gallardo posted a 17-10 record in the 2011 season, and had career-bests in just about every major statistical category.

The Brewers open the season on Friday, April 6th at Miller Park against the defending World Champion St. Louis Cardinals.
