Appleton (WFRV) Some residents got the chance to get behind the wheel of a cool car--- searching for a cure for cancer.

Saturday wrapped up a two day 'Drive for the Cure' event  at Bergstrom in Appleton.

Over 100 vehicles were available for a test drive.  For each mile driven, Bergstrom donated one dollar to support breast cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center.

Last year the event raised 46-thousand dollars. and this year organizers hope to top that number

"1 out of 8 women are affected by breast cancer.  Team members and their families are affected by it.  It's a great cause, something we think we can do something about.  There is going to be a cure for it, and we want to be one of the contributing factors."  Said Jeff Englebert from Victory Lane Imports.

This was the 15th year of the event which has raised over 200-thousand dollars.
