NFL announces game time changes, 2 Packers contests affected

By: Nick Goddard
Updated: June 28, 2012
The NFL announced Thursday that all 3:15 afternoon "doubleheader" games will now start at 3:25 p.m. including 2 Packers games in 2012.

The change was made to eliminate overlaps between games which begin at noon, and the late afternoon contests that are shown to wider audiences.  CBS and Fox rotate the late afternoon "national" time slot throughout the season.

Non-national late afternoon games which start at 3:05 p.m. will not be changed.

2 games involving the Packers this coming season will now start at 3:25, instead of 3:15.  Those games are the September 9th season opener vs. the San Francisco 49ers, and the September 30th game with the New Orleans Saints. Both will take place at Lambeau Field.
