Packers Get Blown out by Giants 38-10

The New York Giants snapped Green Bay's 5-game winning streak Sunday night by blowing out the visiting Packers 38-10.

The game was a battle of the last two Super Bowl champions, and a re-match of the NFC Divisional Round playoff game in January.

Just like the game 11 months ago, the Giants once again got the best of the Packers.  New York's talented front-seven sacked Aaron Rodgers five times, and the Packers quarterback also threw an interception that resulted in a field goal and fumbled leading to a Giants touchdown.

Rodgers did connect on a 61-yard touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson in the first quarter, but that was the lone offensive highlight in the game for Green Bay.

Eli Manning finished 16 for 30 for 349 yards and 3 touchdowns for a Giants team that did not turn the ball over and finished 6 for 12 on 3rd down conversions.  New York also added 147 yards on the ground, while rushing for two touchdowns and averaging 4.7 yards per carry.

The loss drops the Packers to 7-4, one game behind the 8-3 Bears in the NFC North.  Green Bay returns to Lambeau Field next Sunday to host the 6-5 Minnesota Vikings.

After the game Head Coach Mike McCarthy said he believed Greg Jennings (groin/abdomen) would be ready to return next week if all went well in practice, but was less clear on the status of Clay Matthews (hamstring).
