Packers Bounce Back with Divisional Win

The Packers bounced back from their giant letdown last week with a key divisional win over Minnesota this afternoon. With the Bears and the Lions also losing today, Green Bay controls their own destiny.

"Everything's right in front of us, so we gotta go win our home games and get a couple wins on the road," Aaron Rodgers said.

With 210 yards rushing, including an 82-yard touchdown, Adrian Peterson made himself at home at Lambeau Field, the Packers off-set his production by controlling the time of possession.

"It's hard to contain that guy, we understand that," Greg Jennings said. "So the best way to contain him is to keep him off the field and were were trying to do that, give our defense some rest and they were able to finish the game out for us."

Green Bay had the ball almost twice as much as Minnesota, thanks in large part to an 11-minute, 18-play drive in the fourth quarter.

"Man its been awhile since we've had a drive like that. That was pretty impressive to get the first downs that were were able to get on third down, key conversions, overall as an offensive unit I thought that drive was outstanding", Jennings said.

Pickett echoed his thoughts, "That's great, whenever the offense can take the ball for 11 minutes, give the defense a break, defense is always going to come out and play better".

The Packers run-game had one of their best outings of the season, recording 152 yards... James Starks and Alex Green served as an efficient one-two punch, creating balance, which was a sigh of relief for the pass-game.

"Anytime you get the coverages that we've seen here lately you gotta be able to run the ball and they did a great job," said Randall Cobb.

"We talk about the cover two and who's the key to beating the cover two?  Its the run game, if you're not running the ball teams are going to be able to sit back and just put six in the box and that's it," Jennings explained.

The win was a nice birthday present for Aaron Rodgers, a spry 29 year old who was as mobile as ever today, scrambling his way out of at least a half dozen sacks. With the victory, Green Bay improves to 8-4, still perfect in divisional play.
