DE PERE (St. Norbert Athletics) - St. Norbert College saw its winning streak end at eight games in a 4-3 loss to UW-Stout in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at the Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights (14-3-1, 8-2-1 NCHA) trailed 4-1 in the third period before a last-ditch rally fell short. Mason Baptista scored unassisted at 14:45 of the period to cut the deficit to 4-2, and Brandon Hoogenboom scored 10 seconds later to pull St. Norbert to within one. St. Norbert could not find the equalizer however, including playing with an extra attacker the final 24 seconds.

Stout (9-7-2, 4-7) led 2-1 after one period. Kevin O'Donnell put the Blue Devils ahead at 5:15 of the first period, but Joe Perry answered for St. Norbert at 10:10 jamming a loose puck home as a penalty expired. O'Donnell scored late in the first period, scoring at 18:45 just as a St. Norbert penalty expired.

The Blue Devils led 3-1 after two periods after Tate Rusk's power-play goal at 7:10 of the period enlarged the lead. Rusk scored at 8:38 of the third period to give Stout its three-goal lead.

St. Norbert outshot Stout 32-21, including 13-3 in the third period. Nick Hopper made 29 saves for the Blue Devils, while David Jacobson made 17 stops for the Green Knights.

Stout was 1-for-5 on the power play, while St. Norbert - which came into the game with the top power play in Division III at 38.5 percent - went 0-for-6.
