Corey Hart to undergo knee surgery, will miss start of 2013 season

By: Nick Goddard
Updated: January 18, 2013
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Corey Hart will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee next week and will miss the start of the 2013 regular season, the team announced Friday.

Hart had surgery on the knee last year during spring training and reportedly experienced swelling in the same knee this off-season, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

That same report in the Journal-Sentinel stated Hart could miss as much as the first six weeks of the regular season.  Mat Gamel is expected to replace Hart at first base in Spring Training and the start of the season.
