GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV)-- The superintendent of Green Bay schools said the investigation into the misuse of state standardized tests continues, after the district learned last week that other schools may have been showed live test questions.

Dr. Michelle Langenfeld sat down with Local Five for the first time since the investigation broke. Langenfeld said she first learned Friday that other schools may have used the same practice tests that caused Eisenhower's scores to be invalidated.

"I learned from a principal that perhaps she had taken one of the tests from Eisenhower and shared it two years ago, and possibly given it as part of a packet as tests that people might use in their practice test," said Langenfeld, "but we don't have any evidence at this time that anyone used the tests in the same way that Eisenhower did."

Langenfeld said the investigation is still ongoing, and that the district is seeking out more information from staff.

Local has spoken with teachers, who have said from the beginning that using these practice tests was common practice across the district and that the district and Langenfeld had knowledge of this information, during the investigation.

Langenfeld insists that they did not know it was a wide-spread problem.

"There was no evidence at any time during the investigation that any one was using the tests the same way that Eisenhower was using the tests," said Langenfeld.

Again, we asked about Claudia Orr's future with the district and again did not get a clear answer.

"I can't speak to personnel issues, right now she is in the position," said Langenfeld.

Many feel Orr, and Eisenhower are being treated as a scapegoat by the district, and taking the blame for something that was happening at other schools all across the district,  but Langenfeld disagrees.

"Why would she be blamed and i think you know we have a responsibility that when we find out information and when we address the concerns that come forward," said Langenfeld.

Langenfeld said there will be consequences for the staff that was involved, but was hesitant to use the word discipline or to identify who all would be involved.

Local Five does know that Brenden Whitfield, the district assessment coordinator who gave Claudia Orr permission to preview the WKCE books, no longer holds that position. Langenfeld would not say what position he does hold with the district.

"I think that's my responsibility to do that as well, to make sure that all parties  who were involved they are addressed fairly then move forward," said Langenfeld.

We are still trying to obtain documents related to the investigation through an open records request filed with the District. The district said they will try to work with us to get those documents. 

"We have nothing to hide and we'd like to share it out, and we'd like to follow the statutes around open records and provide you with the request with you have so that we can move forward," said Langenfeld.

Langenfeld said she feels a responsibility to the district, to correctly investigate the issue, and prevent it from occurring in the future.

"I will keep reporting as things come forward, and the department of public instruction has said they would guide us and perhaps even provide us resources if we need to move this further down the road for an investigation," said Langenfeld.
