GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Many local businesses are anticipating seeing a lot of green this St. Patrick's day.
St. Brendan's Inn serves a traditional Irish menu all year round. But when the calendar reads March 17th..
"We'll probably go through about 5,000 pints of Guinness tomorrow," said General Manager Barry Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald said St. Patrick's Day is by far their busiest day of the year. The bar opens at 7:00 am, and the live music, food and drinks will flow through the evening. Kitchen staff were doing some final preparations for the party Friday, like getting 800 pounds of corned beef ready for revelers.
"Preparing to feed about 3,000 people," said Fitzgerald. "We have close to 15,000 pints of beer ready to go."
Across town, Lorelei is also gearing up for the holiday. It's the one day a year the German-style restaurant turns Irish.
"It's intense," co-owner Lynne Stahl explained. "We start about 3 or 4 weeks ahead, cooking the corned beef, just trying to get ready."
The restaurant is also ready with plenty of drinks. They have 10 kegs of Guinness ready for the festivities.
With warm weather in the weekend forecast, both bars hope to see their biggest crowds yet.
"It's a Saturday and it looks like it'll be in the 70's," added Fitzgerald. "So it should be a record breaker for us."
