The local bank has decided to return its corporate headquarters to downtown Green Bay.
In a statement the bank tells Local 5, "Associated is working with a potential seller and the City of Green Bay on a plan to acquire property for offices in downtown Green Bay."
Associated was originally based in Green Bay, but moved to Ashwaubenon in 1998.
Currently Associated leases office space, but plans to purchase property in downtown Green Bay.
The move would bring hundreds of jobs to the downtown area, which is in the midst of rebuilding its image.
The Watermark project is in its final stages and re-development of the old Washington Commons mall site has just begun.
Last year Schreiber Foods announced plans to build it's new corporate headquarters on the site of the former Washington Commons. That decision keeps hundreds of jobs in downtown Green Bay and provides the possibility for the creation of hundreds of more jobs.
