De PERE (WFRV) De Pere election officials had voting stations and scanners in place at all wards throughout the city.

But when polls open at 7:00 A.M. poll workers will do more than just help voters who've already registered. They'll get absentee ballots for their wards. Those will be scanned during lull times.

The pre-election meeting for poll workers was held last Thursday. While such meetings normally last an hour, City Clerk Charlene Peterson says that meeting lasted a bit longer.

"With all the changes, this last one now ended up being a little over two-and-a-half hours," she said Just to make sure that anybody that had questions, I wanted to make sure all questions were answered and everyone was on the same page."

"Plus I had a number of new people, so some of them walked out feeling overwhelmed," Peterson said. "But then we have the seasoned election inspectors that help out."

Polls open tomorrow from 7:00 A.M to 8:00 P.M.

Voters won't have to show picture identification to vote. Injunctions placed by two Dane County judges lifted that requirement for tomorrow.

Local 5's Terry Kovarik has the story.
