GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) Area middle school students have gotten a firsthand look at the impact of living homeless in the community.  Set to close for the season next week, Saint John the Evangelist Homeless Shelter has wrapped up school tours.
It's a chance for kids to ask questions and learn about a growing problem in Green Bay.

"Homelessness, it happens to families and individuals," says Executive Director Mary Kelly.  "I think school children are aware of it but many don't have an understanding of it."

After the tour, teachers incorporate the field trip into their lesson plans.  We'll hear how one educator is using this real-life problem in the classroom at ten on Local 5.
