Oshkosh police have arrested a suspect wanted in an area armed robbery. A 56-year old man from Oshkosh was picked up in connection with the December 26th armed robbery of the Blue Moose Convenience Store on Main Street.
Brandon Mueller will be appearing in Fond du Lac County court later today to find out his sentence for the murder and mutilation of his girlfriend. Mueller strangled Renee Redmer last year, then burned her body and dumped the remains in Lake Winnebago. He faces life in prison. Mueller's mother Nancy Pinno was already sentenced to eight years in prison for her involvement and a family friend, Donald Worth was sentenced to six years for his part in the crime.
A Brown County home was damaged by fire overnight. Firefighters were called to Moon Drive in Howard around 4 am. Emergency crews cleared the scene by 6 am. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to an attached enclosed patio room. No injuries were reported.
Brown County authorities are looking for answers as to why traffic deaths were up in 2010. This year 28 people died on brown county roads. That's more than in the previous two years combined. However only 40% of crashes in the county involved drunken drivers; that number are down from 73% in 2008 and 2009.
