DENMARK, WIS. (WFRV) - A Denmark mother has been charged after her toddler daughter was found alone, locked in a car outside a Green Bay bar.
The mother, 18-year-old Yolanda Saldana was in court today. She's charged with battery, disorderly conduct, bail jumping and child neglect.
Police were called to the Loading Dock on Webster Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning to respond to a fight between the Saldana and her sister.
When police arrived both women were gone but they found the toddler locked in Saldana's vehicle. Police say the sister had been babysitting but was upset about the length of time the Saldana was gone. The sister then drove to the bar with the child.
The women got into a physical fight then fled the scene. Police believe the little girl was left in the car for 20 to 30 minutes in 15 degree temperatures.
The girl was taken to the hospital and was released to the custody of her grandfather. The mother was later arrested and booked on charges of battery, disorderly conduct and child neglect.
