The Oshkosh School Board has approved a preliminary budget and it includes a hefty tax increase.
The 8.7% increase represents an extra $69 of taxes, on a $100,000 home.
The nearly three-million dollars in new money will be used to improve elementary math education.
It'll also be used for English learning services, technology and building improvements.
The final tax budget will be set next month when the board learns what state aid it'll receive.
