WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (AP) - The father of a 12-year-old girl critically injured after falling 100 feet at a Wisconsin Dells amusement park says his daughter is awake and stable, but likely will have some paralysis.
Dr. Alex Marti says he thought his daughter, Teagan, had not survived the fall from the Terminal Velocity ride at Extreme World Friday.
Family attorney Stuart Grossman said at a news conference Tuesday the Martis will be pursuing legal action against Extreme World.
Police say operators of the free fall ride failed to raise a catch net 40 feet above ground, causing the girl to fall 100 feet and hit the ground.
Dr. Marti says his daughter hasn't spoken since the accident, but has movement in her right hand. He also believes she did not sustain major injury to her brain from the fall.
