GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) This weekend marked graduation ceremonies for many universities and colleges in our area. The UW System wants to increase its graduation rate by an additional 80,000 students in the next 15 years. We don't know what the job market will be then, but for right now, some grads are telling us they believe things are looking up.
According to UW Oshkosh officials, enrollment is growing despite the cost of college going up. When asked what common bonds this graduating class shares. One of the featured student speakers referred back to the last few years, saying, "I think our resiliency because we went to college in a tough economy and we all made it work financially and we are all standing here today as college graduates..."
The group of graduates at UWGB Saturday was the largest midyear commencement ceremony for the university to date.
