Grilled Portobello Pizza Burger
Ingredients
- 4 Brownberry 100% Whole Wheat Sandwich Buns, toasted or grilled
- 4 portobello mushrooms
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinaigrette
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup pizza sauce, warmed
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
Brush Portobello mushrooms with balsamic vinaigrette. Grill mushroom cap-side-down for 3 to 4 minutes, turn over, and grill for 2 more minutes. Place a slice of mozzarella cheese on top and grill for 1 minute, or until cheese is melted. Place Portobello mushrooms on four bottom halves of sandwich rolls. Spoon pizza sauce on each mushroom and top with slices of red onion and grated Parmesan cheese.
Cook's Tip: The underside of the Portobello mushroom may leave a dark color on the hamburger bun. You can use a spoon to remove the underside before marinating and grilling
