Kentucky, the SEC regular season champions and #2 seed in the Kingsford region used their high-pressure defense to build a 42-25 halftime lead. That advantage remained 17 points in the second half, before Green Bay, led by it's "buzz" defense, took over the game.
The Phoenix forced 34 turnovers, 21 of them via steals. Horizon League player of the year Julie Wojta had 16 points, 10 steals, and 8 rebounds for Green Bay, leading the incredible second half charge, which saw them take their first lead of the contest when freshman Megan Lukan hit a free throw with just under 2 minutes to play.
Green Bay maintained their one point advantage until Keyla Snowden hit a jumper with 20 seconds left, giving the Wildcats a 63-62 lead. Lukan and Lydia Bauer missed shots on the other end of the floor, and Snowden hit a pair of free thows to push the lead to three with 5 seconds left.
Adrian Ritchie had a look at a three in the final seconds, but it missed off the rim. Green Bay finishes the season 31-2.
