The Knights, making their first appearance in the state finals, finish the season 26-2.
Lourdes jumped out to an early seven point lead, but was held without a field goal in the second quarter, as Neillsville gained a 22-21 lead going into the halftime break.
Lourdes took a one point lead in the third quarter, but the Warriors went on a 10-4 run to take a five point advantage into the final 8 minutes of play.
Led by senior Lexy Peterman, who scored 15 points in just 23 minutes due to foul trouble, the Knights pulled within three points in the fourth, but Neillsville (28-0) always had an answer. McKenzie Trunkel led the Warriors with 15, including a big three-pointer which gave Neillsville a six point lead with just over two minutes remaining.
"It's not the color we wanted," said Lourdes head coach Alison Fett following the game., "Some of the girls wanted to spray-paint it (the runner-up trophy.) But I'm so proud of this group. I told them in the locker room, there's not another set of girls that I'd rather sit in this moment with than them."
