Overnight News: Booms return in Clintonville

By: Millaine Wells
Updated: March 28, 2012

CLINTONVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) - Overnight the loud booms returned in Clintonville.

Local 5's Millaine Wells spoke with police and the City Administrator Lisa Kuss.

They say the overnight booms and shakes are stronger than last week.

The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed a 1.5 magnitude earthquake hit the area last Tuesday.

Residents felt small quakes leading up to it.

Overnight Clintonville Police received 60 more reports of loud booms.

Residents say the rumbling lasted longer this time.

The City Administrator tells Local 5 she has already been in contact with the USGS.

They have not detected any seismic activity from the overnight reports, however last week there was also a delay before the earthquake was confirmed.

Clintonville Police ask people to continue reporting the booms.

The overnight episode was in the same general area as last week, however reports are now  coming in from an additional block.
