FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) More local school district officials are coming forward, saying they're benefiting from Act 10. Fond du Lac was able to close a $4.7 million budget gap for this school year.
School Board Member Eric Everson tells Local 5 the district was able to replace 42 retiring teachers. They're also teaming with Google to provide every high schooler in the district with a lap top. Everson says flexibility from Act 10 allowed the district to add more time for teacher collaboration during the day.
The district is currently looking to save more by bidding out its insurance. Last year, the Kaukauna School District reported a $1.5 million surplus, a direct result, they say, of Act 10.
