APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) Memorial Day weekend is also a time to remember those who have gone missing. Friday is National Missing Children's Day. An Appleton group called Mission: Home is using today to launch a new program to provide round the clock services to families of loved ones who have been abducted or run away.
The Family Advocacy Support Team (FAST) consists of three volunteers who give support, resources and most of all hope to families patiently waiting for a safe return home.
Friday night, residents are asked to leave their porch lights on. It's a symbolic gesture to help guide the missing back home. On any given day in Wisconsin, more than 1,300 children and adults are reported missing.
