(CBS) It's the sound that can stress out any marriage. Snoring can keep frustrated partners up all night long.
But one company, Ventus Medical, says it has found a solution.
A new snore therapy product called Theravent, just received FDA approval for sale over-the-counter.
It's like a big band-aid that seals tightly around your nose. The so-called microvalves allow you to breathe in freely, but restricts the airflow when you breath out.
Ventus Medical says it reduces snoring by 76-percent.
Kiet Do tried it. "It feels like you're wearing a scuba mask and takes some getting used to. But after a few minutes of fussing and scratching, you can hear the results."
Do's snore went from a loud snore to a hissing sound.
"Because it's actually creating pressure when you breathe out, it actually pressurizes the airway. So instead of havaing a floppier, smaller airway, the airway is distended and expanded and less likely to vibrating. And that's how Theravent treats snoring." Said Dr. Raj Doshi from Ventus Medical.
There were, however, a few minutes where do's snoring overpowered the device, but it was still muffled.
Theravent costs less than a dollar a night.
