GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) Madison businessman and U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde was the special guest Sunday morning on "Your Local Election Headquarters with Tom Zalaski."

The Republican and political unknown is hoping to grab his party's nomination in Wisconsin's U.S. Senate race.

Hovde is facing former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson, former U.S. Congressman Mark Neumann, and State Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald.

Current polls show Thompson and Hovde as the two GOP frontrunners.

The winner of the August 14 primary will face the lone Democrat in the race, Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin in a general election in November.
