Update: Door County murder victim, suspect identified

Sturgeon Bay, WI (WFRV)- Authorities have arrested a suspect in the murder of 21 year old Alisha N. Bromfield of Plainfield, Illiniois. He is 35 year old Brian M. Cooper, also of Plainfield, Illinois.


The Door County Sheriff's Department tells Local Five that they got a call about noon on Sunday, August 19th from Cooper, allegedly admitting that he killed his girlfriend.

 

Authorities went to Sand Bay Beach Resort in Sturgeon Bay, and found the body of Alisha Bromfield in a hotel room.  An autopsy is being performed Monday on her body.

  

The couple were in were in town attending a wedding Saturday.


 

Cooper is in the Door County jail, and expected to appear in Door County Court Tuesday, August 21 at 1:00 pm. He's facing a possible charge of first degree intentional homicide.
