Marinette, Wis. (WFRV) - A Crivitz man is now charged with the murder of his former girlfriend.
55-year-old Richard Heyer was released from the hospital tWednesday and went straight to court in Marinette County.
The sheriff's department says Heyer shot 51-year-old Ann Schueller while she worked at the Citgo station in Wausaukee and then tried to kill himself.
Heyer's bond was set at $750,000.
"He could very well be locked up for the rest of his life, that makes him a flight risk." District Attorney Allen Brey says. "We need to have some certainty he's going to be here and if anyone posts that or he posts it you'd think he'd make his court appearance."
Heyer is due back in court later this month.
