Green Bay (WFRV) -- Some recent violent crimes all have one thing in common: domestic abuse.
Local 5 News went to Golden House, in Green Bay, to talk with local experts on how to escape troubled relationships.
Staff at Golden House tell us it is never too late to go from victim to survivor.
"It can be very frightening for somebody to see what is happening, but it can also be a big warning sign to somebody that maybe I shouldn't stay," said Karen Faulkner of Golden House.
The shelter provides housing, support, counseling and even individual personal safety plans that spell out who to call and what to take when victims say enough is enough.
