Green Bay, Wis. (WFRV) - The summer may not officially be over yet, but doctors say it's not too early to get ready for the flu.
Flu season typically runs from October through May.
Doctors say the best time to get a flu shot is at the beginning of the flu season to make sure you're properly protected.
"The sooner you get your flu shot, the sooner it will be protected and we don't know if the flu is going to come in October or if it's going to be in December so you want to get it at the beginning of the flu season."
Even though the flu has a greater effect on the elderly, children, and those with diseases like diabetes and Asthema, doctors recommend the flu shot for everyone.
