Timber Rattlers win Game 1

Wisconsin hosted Fort Wayne in Game 1 of the Midwest League Championship series Wednesday night at Fox Cities Stadium, and it took extra innings to capture the series opener. The Timber Rattlers were outhit by the Tincaps 7-4 but capitalized on two costly wild pitches by Fort Wayne with the game winning run scored in the 10th inning. Rafael Nada slid home with the bases loaded after the Tincaps Luis De La Cruz fired one past his catcher in the 3-2 win. Starting pitcher Jacob Barnes gave up two runs over seven innings, while Brent Suter got the win finishing the final three scoreless innings for Wisconsin. Neda led the Rattlers at the plate going 2-4 with a double, run, and RBI. Game 2 of the series is Thursday afternoon at Fox Cities Stadium at 12:05 pm.
